About Us

Celebrating 35 Years!!!!!

Like many successful companies, the original Handi-cap Aids of Oklahoma was “born” in a garage.  The year was 1978 and the garage was in Edmond, OK.  Through the years, the company grew and evolved under the stewardship of previous owners.  In 2002, the goodwill of the former business was purchased by Mike and Kim Bradshaw and they formed Handi-cap Aids Company.

Along with the mobility industry, Handi-cap Aids has grown, learned, and benefited from improvements in technology and the wider selection of high quality mobility products.

In 2003, we added a second company, Mobility Auto Sales, to handle our growing inventory of wheelchair accessible vans.

Thanks to the support of our customers, we’ve outgrown multiple locations over the years.  In 2005, we moved Handi-cap Aids Company and Mobility Auto Sales to our state-of-the-art accessible facility at 730 West Hefner Road in Oklahoma City.

Our Team

Meet Kim Bradshaw of Handi-cap Aids Company.

Owners - Mike and Kim Bradshaw
Mike literally grew up at Handi-cap Aids.  As a high school Junior, in the Edmond Memorial High School DECA program, Mike came to work for HCA in 1981.  His first glamorous job was sweeping the shop floor (a task he STILL knows how to do!).  Over the years, Mike held various positions of increasing responsibility, always with the goal of owning the company.
In 2002, Mike and his wife Kim formed Handi-cap Aids Company.  When they take a break from business, you might find Mike and Kim sailing on Lake Hefner or trying to catch fish…anywhere!  By the way, if you are noticing Mike's slim "new look," he's half the man he used to be and proud of it!

David-Hamlet-Mobility-SpecialistDavid Hamlet – If the name is familiar, you might remember David from when he worked with us previously.  He's since spent 5 years in consumer and business lending in the banking industry, but we finally lured David back to work with us again in 2012.  His background in consumer lending is a great asset for us and for our customers with financing needs.  When David gets a bit of leisure time, he relaxes with music, movies, friends, and family.  David told us, "Working for one of the largest banks in the world was great, but there's nothing like getting to be a part of the family business."

Lynda-Bradshaw-HamletLynda Bradshaw Hamlet – With a broad background in business and customer service, Lynda joined us in 2012 to handle all our "number crunching," including accounts receivable and payable.  She's the proud mom of 3 great sons and she's a happy new bride.  Her sharp mind, laughter, and beautiful smile are a great addition to our workplace.  She's determined to get us more organized, so we're glad to have her on board.  Lynda is Mike's sister.

Pat Bradshaw – Pat joined us in March 2003, with more than 30 years experience in Management, Customer Service, and Sales. She enjoys the variety of her job and the chance to use different skills.  Pat manages our marketing programs, website, social media, and advertising.  Marketing takes her throughout Oklahoma to connect with others who serve the disability community.  Pat is a certified CAMS instructor for our industry and a member of Business Networking International and Marketing Plus.  Travel is always Pat’s first choice for leisure time, especially car trips with the music blaring and occasional casino stops. Pat is Mike’s stepmom.

Denise Madison - Denise joined us in June 2014.  She brings more than 11 years of experience working with the disability community, including working in the home health care industry and with persons who have developmental disabilities.  As our service coordinator Denise schedules appointments, orders parts, updates customers on project status, and manages the workflow in our service department.  Denise says she is "boring" but we don't think so!  Her great smile brightens our days.  Denise enjoys baking (can you smell pumpkin bread?), window shopping, occasional casino visits, Facebook, and keeping tabs on 10 grandchildren.

Paul Clayton - Paul joined our team in January 2013.  He brings 22+ years of technical and service experience in automotive, mobility products, and wheelchair accessible vehicles.  Paul is a multi-certified mobility technician, ASE certified mechanic, certified machinist, and certified fork lift operator.  Paul is our expert for service on minivan conversions.  He also installs hand controls and installs and services all types of mobility equipment.  He also finds time to rebuild and restore cars, including classic hot rods, and loves to ride the wind on a Harley.

Daniel Langdon - In September 2014 we recruited Daniel to join our team, bringing more than 15 years of automotive technician experience.  Daniel was raised in far southeast Oklahoma before moving out of state.  We're glad he's "come home" again.  When not working, Daniel enjoys family time with his wife and daughter while still finding time for hobbies.  He's an accomplished drummer playing for 21 years and his love for all things automotive includes building hot rods.  Daniel and Paul make a seamless technician team with the "shorthand" of 16 years of friendship.

Our E-Mail Addresses   (sales and whatever needs doing!)  (sales, van rentals, inventory) (accounting, receivables, payables) (marketing, websites, advertising) (scheduling, parts, status) (to contact Paul or Danny)

We have an indoor showroom for wheelchair vans.

In 2005, we built a 15,000 square foot facility, designed specifically for our business and for the needs of our customers.

You’ll find state of the art accessible features throughout the building and the largest indoor mobility showroom in Oklahoma

Our service department includes 16 ft. wide service bays, allowing plenty of room for ramps and lifts to deploy, and easy access for our customers when fitting mobility equipment.

The Customer Lounge has cable TV, wireless internet access, a take-home paperback library, games, puzzles, and a great coffeemaker for your use.

Our large, accessible restroom has an automatic door, automatic toilet, automatic faucet, automatic soap dispenser, automatic paper towel dispenser, automatic hand blower, and mirrors for “primping” at wheelchair height and standing height.
